Deciding when to visit Majorca can be just as important as deciding where to stay. The island enjoys a long, generous season, but each part of the year has its own distinct character. This honest comparison should help you pick the moment that suits your idea of the perfect holiday.

Spring: April to June

Spring is arguably the loveliest time on the island. The countryside is green, wildflowers carpet the hillsides and walking conditions are ideal. Prices are still reasonable and the crowds have yet to arrive. The sea can feel brisk early on, but by June it is warming nicely. This is the season we recommend most often to first-time visitors.

High Summer: July and August

These are the hottest, busiest and most expensive months. Beaches buzz, the nightlife comes alive and the weather is reliably sunny. If you are travelling with school-age children you may have little choice, in which case book a villa with a pool and air conditioning and embrace the lively atmosphere.

Autumn: September and October

Autumn rivals spring for charm. The sea is at its warmest after a summer of heat, the crowds thin out and the light turns golden. It is a wonderful time for both swimming and exploring, and one of the best-value periods to rent a villa.

Which Should You Choose?

If you crave warm seas and quiet beaches, lean towards autumn. For green landscapes and gentle hiking, choose spring. Only opt for high summer if you genuinely enjoy the heat and bustle, or if school holidays leave you no alternative. Whichever you pick, a little flexibility with dates can unlock noticeably better villa prices.
